Hi, I’m Dave Hyde, Station Manager at CPR.

I enjoy hearing people’s stories, whether they come from familiar names in entertainment or from someone in our community with something worth sharing.

I have carried out more than 250 interviews, and what I enjoy most is getting beyond the usual answers. A good conversation gives you the chance to get to know the person behind the name.

Music is a big part of my life too, with plenty of different styles finding their way into my listening. At CPR, I bring those interests together through interviews, presenting and producing shows.

Outside broadcasts are one of my favourite ways to connect with our audience. They give us the chance to meet people face to face, put faces to familiar voices and hear more about the people and organisations around us.

I enjoy interviewing people from the entertainment world, as well as local people who are doing interesting things and making a difference in their communities.

Running CPR is a team effort. Everyone has something to contribute, and I believe we are only as good as each other. It is that shared effort that makes CPR work.

I want our programmes to reflect that too, celebrating local talent and giving people the chance to share what they do. Whether I am planning an interview, working on a show or organising an outside broadcast, I am always thinking about what will interest the person listening.

I was also nominated by the CPR team for Inspirational Leader of the Year, which came as a huge shock and meant a great deal to me.

Away from the station, I am a husband and dad who enjoys films, music and creative projects.
