Hi, I’m Graham.

I was born in Leicestershire and have lived locally for more than 50 years. Music has been part of my life from an early age, and for the last 40 years I have played in and worked as Musical Director for various local brass bands.

I have been fascinated by film and television music since childhood, when I enjoyed programmes such as Thunderbirds and other Gerry Anderson series. By the early 70s, I had started collecting recordings and following the composers behind the music.

Over the years, I have attended concerts at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican and Birmingham’s Symphony Hall. I have also had the pleasure of meeting composers and songwriters including John Williams, John Barry, Jerry Goldsmith, Don Black, Barry Gray, David Arnold and Guy Farley.

What keeps me interested is the variety. Film music can be dramatic and orchestral, but it can also include jazz, blues, modern music and many other styles.

Alongside Movie Music, I also present Easy Listening, giving listeners a chance to relax with a comfortable mix of familiar favourites. I enjoy using my shows to introduce brass band music to more people and share the sounds I have loved for so many years.

I also love the live side of radio. I regularly join Harry and Cameron, and welcome them onto my shows to discuss films, favourite scores and the stories behind the music.

I work in Swannington and volunteer with CPR because I enjoy sharing my knowledge, supporting the community and helping people discover something new.
